Dear Members,

Here’s a quick round up from the South Yardley neighbourhood policing team.

What’s been happening:

It’s been a busy last week with various activity whereby, we have conducted patrols in our local parks, we have also attended schools and involved in searches to support the schools with removing prohibited items, attending residential blocks to reduce antisocial behaviour, and we have also conducted crime preventions stands inside of businesses. We will continue to be proactive in our approaches to deter and disrupt any activity that is having a negative impact on the community. More work is being done and discussed.

During this time, we have also arrested individuals for being wanted for Theft from motor vehicle, possession with intent to supply, recall to prison and numerous stop searches have been conducted and Theft from shops.

More parking fines are continuing to be issued around Yew Tree and last week they fined about 13 vehicles. Including officers have issued 13 tickets for various types of parking offences in and around the area.

Tuesday 25th November marked a national campaign of ending Violence against women and girls. In support, we had set up a crime prevention stand in Asda Small heath, offering out advice, personal attack alarms and other crime prevention advice for Vehicle and Burglary related crime including Faraday pouches and anti-theft number plate screws.

We want to say a huge Thank You to those that have been sending in information and intelligence to us to progress and deal with immediately. This assists us in being able to target the problems and individuals involved to reduce and disrupt the concerns and activity. If you see anything please use the below details or call this in via 101 in non-emergencies to get officers to the area.

Empowered Steps: The next one will now take place in the new year. All details will be shared once these have been obtained. This will take place at Oaklands Recreational Ground. Meeting point is on the pathway behind the skatepark. We want to hear your concerns.

Brew with the Crew: This has been scheduled at South Yardley Library for 1100-1230. See below for details.
